WHAT'S IN A SHARE?

The Produce Share

Recieve a splendid variety of produce, delivered weekly to Shepherdstown or to one of several locations in Maryland, Virginia or Northwest DC. You will sample over 150 varieties of vegetables, fruits and herbs. Each week's delivery yields its own unique harvest. Plan on plenty of those favorite staple vegetables, plus a healthy portion of the exotic and novel. Quantity and variety progress with the season. (Click here to view a table of what produce is usually available and when)

Your Choices (AU members, click here for your information):

Standard Vegetable Share (18 wks June to October):
Most members receive the Standard Share (averaging 3/4 of a grocery bag full). As the season progresses and crops mature, the amount and variety of produce increases.
$600 delivered

Flower Share (Available this year WITHOUT Purchasing a Vegetable Share!):
Am actual bouquet of organically grown country flowers (this means no toxin-laden pollen floating around your house!) delivered each week. We strive for 20 LONG stems per week and enough diversity so you can make great bouquets of your own. Flower shares start in late June/early July and run until frost (usually late September), typically this will mean 10 or more bunches for the season. $100

Egg Shares (only available with a Vegetable Share):
If you are not eating eggs from pastured chickens, well, you're not really eating eggs! Eggs are only food quality if the chickens have had access to fresh greens and insects as a regular part of their diet. It's all about Omega-3!! (Commercial egglayers are fed low nutrient, GMO grains, bakery waste and other low nutrition by-products) This year we will be feeding our heirloom chickens locally milled grains of the highest nutrient value to supplement their own foraging.
1doz eggs each week of the season (18wks) $80 Please Pay for Eggs with your Vegetable Share! (Order as many doz. as you'd like. (Sold only in multiples of 1doz this year. NO HALF SHARES!!)

Fruit Share (only available with a Vegetable Share):
It is very difficult to raise apples and peaches organically. It is our goal in the future to provide biodynamically grown fruits, but, for the time being, the fruit share will be a share of 'fresh and local' low-input non-organic fruit from neighboring Jefferson Co. farms. (Price: Still open, but most likely 4 or 5 fruit (Peach, Apple, Pear, etc) typically for $70 for the season.) We do not accept payment for Fruit Shares until announced in later Spring.

Please note: Vegetable, egg and flower shares must be paid for in advance. "
